27. Austrian Mountain troop, 1918
This is a soldat of the Kaiserschutzen Regiment Nr.1, late WW1.
He is wearing the M17 Austrian helmet with an edelweiss painted on the left side and the white patch on the back is for artillery spotters for the line of advance.
Although his uniform and pack is standard issue his pouches are 1888 issue which were brought back into service at the end of the war when equipment was running short.
He is still wearing his green marksmanship award (the green pom-poms) and is armed with the Styer M95 Mannlicher rifle.
