5. Billman of Wars of the Roses 1471

A Billman of the Ormond Household as he would have been dressed at the Battle of Tewkesbury, 4th May 1471.

This important (and for me, local) battle put and end to the second phase of the Wars of the Roses, with a decisive Yorkist victory.

This lightly armoured Billman is armed with the simples of bills, the voulge, which is essentially just a sharp spear. Variations include more complicated bill heads like the halberd. All bill weapons have their pros and cons.
